Darbnd branch was established by our National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s own initiative and assignment in 1993.

The Branch was led by Professor Kerimov Rahman Yuzbash oghlu since its establishment until October of 2000. Beginning from the middle of 2000 to present the Director of the Branch is Professor Goyushov Rovshan Jahandar.

The new training complex of Darband branch of the University of Economics has been constructed under the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was put into operation. The training complex is suitable for training of 1500 students. The Campus-type new training complex consists of a dormitory for 200 students, a library, a canteen, a sports hall and a pool, and a lyceum for 200 students.

The Branch is provided with modern computer rooms, a library provided with modern books, a reading hall, and so on. Lecturers constantly work out scientific-research works; make reports in the republic and international conferences.

The Branch has been awarded licenses and accreditation on the above mentioned specialties by Azerbaijan Republic Ministry of Education. Every year the admission of students to the branch is carried out both chargeable and free of charge as well.
